I believe that therapy is a collaborative process linking therapist and client. Whether you are going through a temporary hardship and looking for solution-focused work, or an ongoing issue requiring long-term therapy, we all need some help from time to time. We will work together in order to identify what goals you would like to work towards and formulate a treatment plan that best suits you. I am trained and have extensive experience treating numerous mental health issues including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, adjustment issues, relationship issues, stress related issues, and anger management. You may relate to some of the symptoms listed, or you may know someone who is. I received my doctorate degree from the California School of Professional Psychology. I have experience working with diverse populations; which includes substance abuse/addiction clients, young adults dealing with life stressors in a college setting, inpatient psychiatric hospital with psychotic clients, and currently work in a forensic setting with inmates in a maximum security prison. Additionally, I have worked as a consultant with a psychology study course company and I help clinicians to pass their licensing exams if you or someone you may know needs help with their exams. My therapeutic orientation includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic theory. I generally like to utilize psychodynamic to help the client gain an understanding/insight into the root of their mental health issues, and subsequently utilize CBT in order to formulate a treatment plan in order for the client to reach their goals. I look forward to the opportunity to help you gain greater life satisfaction and achieving your goals.
