Introduction

Online Individual, Family, and Couple Therapy for Children, Adults, and Elderly My name is Dr. Cecelia VanOver. My practice is strictly telehealth. This means that I will provide an internet link that will allow you access to the platform that I utilize for therapy. This platform allows clients to book their own appointments, send secure messages, pay by charge account, receive therapy. The platform is secure, HIPAA compliant which stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. HIPAA compliance means that the national standards are being used to protect medical records and other personal health records. This is important, especially when a provider is using a telehealth practice. This type of practice allows for flexibility and convenience for the clients. I will start each session with a question about the environment that the client is occupying. It is important that the client is in a comfortable, quiet, and has a confidential surrounding. My Cognitive-Behavioral approach to therapy allows for an understanding of the client’s belief to a situation which is producing the emotion. We will restructure the belief so that a corrected emotional response can be felt. I also use a Person-Centered approach. This is where the client and I develop a therapeutic relationship that is based a trust, non-judgmental, empathy, active listening, and reflection. Basically, this approach can be considered talk therapy. The initial telehealth session will consist of completing a mental health assessment. This means we will gather information about family history, past therapy and other data that will be helpful for your success in therapy. We will complete a treatment plan that will consist of the goals the client would like to achieve and have a plan to reach the goals. Then therapy begins. My hours are Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm. However, if there is ever an urgent matter, I can be reached 24/7 @ 815-955-8805. If there is an emergency, please call 911.
