Hello, I’m Dr. Carlos Rivera-Babilonia (He/Him/His), a bilingual (English & Spanish) pre-licensed psychotherapist in Clinical Psychology at Reconnect Psychotherapy PLLC. I began my journey in mental health over six years ago and have had the privilege of working under the supervision of Dr. Pablo Pagán-Rivera. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University in Puerto Rico and completed specialized training through a pre-doctoral internship in Clinical Forensic Psychology and a post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Correctional Psychology. My experience in outpatient, forensic, and correctional settings has shaped a well-rounded, compassionate approach to care. My work is grounded in providing culturally sensitive, neurodivergent-affirming support to individuals from diverse backgrounds. I specialize in working with neurodivergent clients, particularly those with ADHD and other cognitive differences, as well as men, young adults, and members of the Latinx/Hispanic community. I help clients navigate challenges related to identity, emotional expression, societal expectations, and life transitions. In therapy, I draw from evidence-based modalities including CBT, ACT, REBT, and Schema Therapy, while incorporating mindfulness and a humanistic perspective. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, develop emotional regulation skills, and build resilience. My goal is to support you in gaining self-awareness, embracing your strengths, and finding meaningful ways to thrive. If you're seeking a supportive and affirming therapeutic relationship that honors your individual and cultural experiences, I’m here to walk that path with you.
