C.C. Cassell, Psy.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the founder of The BIPOC Healing Co. She has over 15 years of experience in the mental health field and is a trained Doula. Her primary areas of focus are: Women's health, Maternal wellness, Complex trauma, Employee well-being, & Cultural competence. Brief Bio As an undergraduate, Dr. C double majored in psychology and criminal justice, while working in the non-profit sector, academia, childcare, and corporate settings. After graduating Magna Cum Laude, Dr. C continued to gain experience through successive therapy practicums as she furthered her education. Her most notable practicums involved training at the Atlanta VA's military sexual trauma treatment program, a maximum security prison, a rural employee assistant program, and a domestic violence shelter. While training, Dr. C began her own personal therapy journey in order to foster her personal and professional growth. She completed two master’s degrees in counseling and psychology before earning her doctorate in clinical psychology from an APA accredited program. This involved completing an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship at Texas Woman's University, followed by two prestigious post-doctoral fellowships. Dr. C's first postdoc was at Sheppard Pratt Hospital’s Trauma Disorders Program and the second involved a partnership between the University of California San Francisco's, Trauma Recovery Center & San Francisco General Hospital's, Rape Treatment Center. After completing all of the requirements to become a licensed psychologist, Dr. C completed DONA International training to become a Doula and published a study related to maternal well-being. She remains committed to furthering her personal and professional growth and improving the mental health of women.
