"Momentum is the impetus gained by a moving object. It is not only an aspect of physics, it is also a feature of human experience that is often overlooked, underrecognized, and as a result, underutilized. Many of us strive for change that heightens our happiness and sense of fulfillment. Making change, however, is not easy. Once patterns are set, they resist being altered; we develop habits of living that do not allow for change without considerable effort and discipline. Often, we look to motivation as the exclusive means to change. Motivation is the why of change. Momentum is the how." - Keith Fadelici LCSW Momenta is the plural of momentum. In psychology, momentum can be defined as a driving power or strength. Dr. Brie Marion believes that this power and strength can be accessed from a number of lenses. Thus, Momenta Mental Health was created to help people tap in to their innate power through healing the past, curating an embodied awareness of the present, and manifesting one's ideal future. Brie partners with clients to help them move in the direction of living the life they want to live. She incorporates her knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and relational trauma to guide clients toward healthier relationships with self and others. Brie has extensive training in the treatment of trauma across the lifespan. She draws on the work of Pia Mellody, Somatic Experiencing, experiential play therapy, and interpersonal neurobiology in her approach to helping clients access their power and strength. Brie is an approved personal session provider for Somatic Experiencing learners at the Beginning level.
