Introduction

My quest for knowledge didn't end with 5 years of extensive training in psychiatry at University of South Carolina. More than 25 years ago, I started my journey with focus on detailed assessments for proper diagnosis with expertise in psychotropic medications. It didn't end there and I kept growing with zest to learn techniques of various evidence-based therapies; CBT, MIT, DBT, parent management therapies, and last but not least Mindfulness based reduction program and Yoga teacher training to help bring elements of these in my life and those I serve. I believe every individual is unique and no one shoe fits all. Therefore, I start with comprehensive psychiatric assessment and then treatment planning to see what kind of therapy, life style changes, supports, environmental interventions and or medication may help you based on your needs and specific situation. You are an integral part of your treatment and it is crucial that I start with listening, assessing and then collaborating with you to come up with individualized plan. Last 10 years I have spent countless hours training health professionals on various psychiatric diagnosis and psychotropics and on rationale use of psychotropics in conjunction with therapeutic services that bring about meaningful longer lasting results. I enjoy reading and teaching what I learn! I have continued my journey to give back and my most rewarding part is to provide psychiatric consultation to primary care providers throughout State of South Carolina. I have worked in wide array of settings including inpatient, outpatient, residential treatment centers and provided treatment to those with diagnosis of Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, Psychotic Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, etc. Due to limitations of my practice setting including limited hours available, I would primarily focus on treating Depression, Anxiety and ADHD. I am not contracted with insurance companies to file insurance which in turn helps provide highly personalized, confidential, meaningful therapeutic experience outside of confines of system and insurance companies.
