Introduction

The experience of trauma in one's life is often at the root of many people's suffering, whether it is through a mood disorder, anxiety, addiction, or relational difficulties. They are tired of being bullied by their own thoughts and emotions and not being able to experience a fulfilling life or enjoy intimate relationships. Can you relate to any of these experiences? I offer evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy services to adolescents and adults via telehealth video conferencing. I specialize in assessing and treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), other trauma-based symptoms, as well as Borderline Personality Disorder. I typically use principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with my clients in some way, as the principles are helpful with all kinds of presenting concerns I also enjoy working with married or cohabitating couples who need support and coaching with communication, conflict resolution, and having healthy boundaries within their relationship. Members of the LGBTQIA+ community are offered a safe and affirming space to engage in individual or couples' work. Being in the Hampton Roads area for most of my career, I have worked with many military families who contend with their own unique stressors and traumas. My practice also serves other mental health clinicians who may need their own support for managing mental health concerns, relational conflict, or coping with work-related burn out and compassion fatigue. I have enjoyed offering Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) for the past three years to individuals of all ages by partnering with Dream Catchers in Toano, VA. To inquire about EAP, contact Dream Catchers at (757) 566-1775. (www.dreamcatchers.org) Registration and payment arrangements are coordinated directly with Dream Catchers. Financial assistance for this service is limited, but available based on funding. Dream Catchers also is an approved provider through Wounded Warriors Project, which supports veterans and their families. WWP refers veterans for equine assisted interventions at no cost. Shame and fear of being judged often keeps us from reaching out for the support and help that we need. Let go of those thoughts that keep you stuck in your suffering and isolation. I am here to listen to your story and remind you that you are valuable. I look forward to walking with you as you grow and heal. Please Note- My practice does NOT bill insurance. Clients are responsible for full payment on the day of their session. A detailed superbill is provided to all clients on a monthly basis to assist clients in submitting their own insurance claims if they so choose. Clients are not guaranteed reimbursement and are encouraged to consult with their insurance carrier for more information.
