Dr. Amanda McLean is a Licensed Psychologist in the states of Virginia and Oklahoma and a Registered Telehealth Psychologist in the state of Florida. She has been a therapist for over 15 years, and her passion is helping clients develop healthy coping strategies for managing the challenges of life. Many of Dr. McLean's clients come in to address anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment to life transitions. Dr. McLean is passionate about serving teenagers as well as adults across the lifespan. Dr. McLean's approach to therapy incorporates strategies from Internal Family Systems as well as cognitive, behavioral, acceptance, and value based treatment strategies. Her practice focuses on helping clients form a deeply satisfying relationship with themselves and others by promoting self-awareness and teaching clients to manage symptoms and live more effectively. Dr. McLean believes that people are uniquely shaped by their early relationships, especially family relationships and subsequent life experiences. By participating in therapy people can address their struggles, strengths, and life choices. Her sessions are client-centered and focused on helping clients gain insight into themselves and make behavioral changes. In addition, Dr. McLean works with her clients to explore thought patterns and how these patterns affect their decisions and behavior. She provides a safe, encouraging, and respectful environment where those committed to therapy and change are able to find solutions. Dr. McLean's services are provided via telehealth. This approach allows convenience for many individuals. The choice to pursue behavioral health services can be confusing and overwhelming. Dr. McLean's goal is to provide a space that makes you feel accepted and comfortable as you begin this journey.
