Great to meet you! I'm Dr. Aglaed Mayorga, a licensed psychologist in California. As a first-generation Latina-American woman from an immigrant family, I understand the challenges of balancing multiple cultural identities. In my work with teens and adults from many different backgrounds, I've seen how life experiences – like trauma, substance use, and other hardships, can impact the way we see ourselves, connect with others, and navigate our lives. These experiences shaped my compassionate and understanding approach to therapy. I specialize in helping clients work through intergenerational trauma, anxiety, depression, and narcissistic abuse. I am committed to supporting fellow Latinx, Latine, and BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color) individuals from all walks of life. A bit about my approach to therapy: My therapy approach is rooted in client-centered and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), along with other effective methods to tailor to each person's needs. I offer therapy sessions in English, Spanish, or a combination of both (Spanglish) to ensure that language is never a barrier to healing. My therapeutic approach is transparent, genuine, and grounded, and helping clients untangle the patterns that have impacted their personal relationships, family dynamics, work, and romantic partnerships. I support individuals and work through communication, struggles, trust issues, and the negative experiences that have shaped or distorted their self-perception. I aim to provide a safe, supportive space where they can heal, grow, and step into the best version of themselves. What you can expect from our first session: After a free 15-minute video or phone consultation, the initial intake appointment includes a conversation about your needs and reasons for seeking therapy. While progress looks different for everyone, clients often develop greater self-awareness, build healthier relationships, and strengthen their coping skills over time. I enjoy working with individuals who are curious about themselves and open to putting in the effort needed for growth during our sessions. Other psychological services I offer are psychological testing and Immigration Extreme Hardship Evaluations (Attention Immigration Attorneys, please email your inquiries to support@personapsych.org or call 562-250-4452) ¡Un placer conocerte!
