Introduction

I am so glad you found me! My passion lies in helping individuals, couples, and families learn about their own personal strengths, and then using their strengths to overcome challenges in life. I work with those who are striving to overcome depression, anxiety, effects of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, grief, marital, and parenting issues. I specialize in adolescent/adult self-harming behaviors, depression, and anxiety. My desire is to help each client find hope in the midst of difficult times and pull through adversity as a stronger, more complete person. I work with many counseling modalities such as talk, experiential, sand tray, and play therapy (for the little ones). I have worked extensively with members from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I am on the approved counselor list for the Church. I earned both my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and my Masters of Education in Counseling from the University of North Texas. I look forward to meeting you and working with you or your child to make life more peaceful and enjoyable! FUN FACTS! I have been married to my best friend, Phil, for over 30 years. Together we have raised three awesome children who turned out to be awesome adults! I find great joy in the grand-parenting arena, but wish I could make everyone live right around the corner instead of in another state!! In my free time, I enjoy reading, camping, going to museums, hanging out at the beach, spending time with my family, and running off with my husband for adventure weekends. I was accused of being an adrenaline junky after a particular tubing experience on the Provo River, but I disagree. I really wish I enjoyed cooking, running, and non-fat milk, but I have learned to accept my own flaws and limitations.
