Don has a deep love for people and a calling in helping others navigate the wiles of life on this earth. He began his educational experience knowing that God prepares the called; He doesn’t call the prepared. Don graduated with his Bachelors and Masters Degree in Social Work from West Texas A&M University and immediately began working in various clinical settings. His educational and professional background has afforded him the experience of working with a vast array of clientele and through this he recognizes the importance of flexibility and adaptability as a therapist. During his time as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Don finds great joy in his work and exhibits this in the enthusiasm he brings to sessions. His clinical experience includes employment at a mental health hospital where he gained valuable experience working with adults and adolescents with acute and chronic mental health issues. Don was also a partner in starting and building an Intensive Outpatient Program for addiction where he worked with individuals and groups from all sorts of socioeconomic demographics and backgrounds. His background in private practice prior to LiveWell includes working with young teens, high school students, individual adults, and marriages. He is skilled in facilitating group therapy, and absolutely loves working with marriages and individuals dealing with various stresses, hurts, violations, or abuses. Don is trained in many effective therapy modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma treatment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Restoration Therapy and RelateStrong to help people and couples suffering from marriage stresses, infidelity, blended families, trauma, addictions, family conflict, depression, anxiety, as well a other mood disorders and has done work in Crisis Intervention Debriefing. Don’s goal is to help people find their best self, their God-given purpose, and realize their potential in God’s economy, in order to be a better person, parent, child, sibling, spouse, employee and servant.
