Hi! I'm Diane Semerak and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified EMDR therapist, and Certified Medical Support-Clinical Hypnotherapist. For over 20 years, I've studied and provided assessment and treatment of trauma and PTSD, as well as other mental health issues. These days, I focus on complex PTSD and dissociation that can result from chronic trauma and abuse. I treat these issues with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Structural Theory of Dissociation, and Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS) therapy, to help you move beyond the disruptions of old and new trauma. As a trauma specialist with a holistic perspective, I integrate mindfulness, listen with compassion, explore trauma reactions, and teach coping skills--all to promote your recovery from the effects of early abuse, attachment wounds or later trauma. We create a treatment plan together, so you can learn to increase self-empowerment as you decrease symptoms and manage intrusive memories. At my office in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, I offer both in-person and televideo counseling sessions on a secure HIPAA-compliant platform. Please note: this is a time of very high demand and from time to time, my practice will be full. When I do not have availability, I will be unable to accommodate appointment requests; however, I am happy to set up a phone appointment for a free 20-minute consultation, in order to make referrals or place you on a wait list to notify you when I have next have availability. If your focus is personal growth, I also offer hypnotherapy to help you achieve goals, release unwanted habits or change lifestyle, and provide medical support hypnotherapy based on a doctor's prescription and referral. Some people choose to use hypnotherapy for spiritual growth or to explore lifelong patterns. Hypnotherapy sometimes is not billed to insurance because it may exceed allowable time limits or not meet criteria for medical necessity.
