Introduction

Devyn (pronounced Dev-in) Mitchell is a mental health professional and owner of H-Town Counseling Services, based in Washington, DC. Devyn is a Houston (H-Town) Native that currently resides in Washington, DC. Devyn’s educational background includes a BS in Psychology and a MA in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School. Devyn has been working in the mental health field for over 10 years with diverse ages/populations. She currently holds a LPC & works with youth at local schools and adults in the District of Columbia. Her passion is giving back to communities by informing & educating individuals with the skills and knowledge on how to manage/ address their mental health needs. Devyn specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy and Trauma Informed Therapy. Devyn also specializes in working with individuals that have been diagnosed with an Auto-Immune Chronic Illness. In her free time, Devyn enjoys reading, traveling, writing, advocacy and running. She has completed 6 full marathons and a host of half marathons, and has also been a guest facilitator in mental health advocacy related events. She has also been passionately serving as the support group facilitator and ambassador for the Lupus Foundation of America since 2019.
