Introduction

Denaya brings a love of all people to the table, and hopes this shows through her compassion, empathy, humor and oftentimes, direct approach with the clients she works with. Denaya believes that we are not made to live alone but to live in community. All of us are given gifts and we all create this beautiful mosaic when we use those gifts to honor those around us. Sometimes these gifts are not known to us until we forge them in dark and trying times and see the joy in common humanity. Denaya graduated with an MA in clinical and counseling psychology from St. Mary’s University and is a licensed professional clinical counselor. Denaya has worked with diverse populations throughout her career as a therapist and specializes in sexual wellness, acute/complex/attachment traumas, recovering from narcissistic relationships, PTSD, anxiety, depression, shame, guilt, and personality disorders, digital tech and pornography addiction and other unhealthy coping skills/distractions, and sports/performance anxiety. Her method of approaching therapy is first and foremost holistic, looking at the whole body as one system and that the client has the gifts and skills to attune to live authentically. Denaya is trained in EMDR, digital technology addiction, suicidality and has a passion for internal family systems, polyvagal theory, somatic experiencing, mindfulness and cognitive behavioral techniques. If the client chooses, discussion of faith and spirituality can be included.
