I am Resident in Counseling, working under the supervision of Matthew Browning, LPC, and I am honored to provide in-person therapy in Charlottesville, VA. I specialize in supporting adolescents, young adults, families and athletes from all walks of life who are facing mental health challenges that include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, developmental trauma, perfectionism, and life transitions. I believe we are all shaped by a mix of past experiences and present realities; these trials and tribulations together create our individual life stories and unique perspectives. Whether I am working with a child or an adult, my approach to therapy is rooted in building a genuine connection, meeting everyone where they are, and creating a safe space where clients feel heard and understood. I take a client-centered approach, listening empathetically to client concerns while working together to uncover strengths and resilience. I also draw on cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help clients challenge self-defeating thoughts that impede on their well-being, and, when needed, I use solution-focused techniques to support them in moving toward their goals in the here and now. Born and raised in Virginia Beach, I am a proud first-generation college graduate and former football student-athlete. I attended the University of Virginia, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s in Higher Education. In 2023, I completed my second master’s in counseling at the University of Lynchburg, where I built a foundational understanding of counseling after years of working in education. My prior roles included teaching, advising, coaching, and school counseling—each role has strengthened my passion for helping others and deepened my understanding on how to meet the specific needs of young people and their families. Outside of work, I treasure spending quality time with my wife and my lovable Rottweiler, Zeke. Life’s simple joys, like being with the ones I love, are what truly matter most to me.
