Introduction

Hi there! I’m Deborah, a neurodivergent, bi/queer licensed social worker in Ohio and a registered drama therapist! I received my Masters of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and my Drama Therapy education through the alternative training track offered by the North American Drama Therapy Association. Most of my experience in the field has been with children-adults who have disabilities and/or are Autistic/ADHDr neurotypes. I also value my lived experience as a late diagnosed ADHDr. I incorporate aspects of somatic experiencing, emotional regulation/mindfulness skills, and compassion focused work. A unique piece to my therapeutic practice is my drama therapist lens. Drama therapy is the intentional use of drama and/or theatre processes to achieve therapeutic goals. Drama is active, experiential and an embodied experience. It allows for spontaneity, creativity and play. All humans need play at all ages and stages of development. Yes, even adults!
