Introduction

At Summit Therapy Center, we believe in the transformative power of play therapy to nurture healing, growth, and resilience. In our work with children and families grappling with complex trauma, neurodivergent diagnoses, and various life stressors, we recognize that the healing journey is shaped by diverse cultural influences beyond our direct control. We have engaged deeply with individuals from diverse backgrounds who have felt marginalized by societal pressures, leading to increased stress, anxiety, and depression. The absence of self-compassion often prevents individuals from extending kindness to themselves during difficult times, which can profoundly impact their mental and physical well-being. At Summit Therapy Center, we prioritize the cultivation of healthy interpersonal connections, understanding that just as wounds may originate in relationships, healing can also unfold within them. Our approach centers on establishing secure, attached relationships with our clients, empowering them to embark on their journey toward greater self-compassion. By emphasizing their strengths and supporting them in navigating vulnerabilities, we facilitate meaningful progress and personal growth. Daysi B. Onstad MsPsy, LCPC, Certified Autplay Provider, Registered Play Therapy- Supervisor (RPT-S) 406.272.2606 / DOnstad@SummitTC.org I'm originally from Peru, and I moved to the states in 2006. I am currently working with children and families who struggle with complex trauma, neurodivergent diagnoses, and life stressors. My educational background involves special education and psychology, which provide me with the tools to serve children and their families, especially those who come from hard places. Matthew J. Onstad MS, LCPC, NCC, Certified Autplay Provider 406.272.2611 / MOnstad@SummitTC.org I am a certified AutPlay Therapy Provider and a National Certified Counselor, dedicated to providing evidence-based and compassionate care to children and teens. I am currently working toward becoming a Registered Play Therapist, further solidifying my commitment to utilizing innovative therapeutic approaches tailored to young individuals. My passion lies in using play therapy to connect with clients in a meaningful and developmentally appropriate way, fostering healing, resilience, and personal growth. My mission is to empower children and teens to navigate their emotions and challenges, equipping them with the tools to thrive and lead fulfilling lives. Joining me in sessions is my therapy dog, Miski, who is also in training to become a certified play therapy dog. Together, we create a welcoming and supportive environment where children feel safe to express themselves and grow through the transformative power of play. Karli M. Storey MEd, LCPC 406.647.0124 / KStorey@SummitTC.org I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor at Summit Therapy Center, specializing in outpatient care for children and families. With a foundation rooted in a master's degree in school counseling from Montana State University-Billings, I began my journey to meet the growing demand for mental health support in the community. During my tenure in a school setting, I observed firsthand the increasing need for comprehensive counseling services beyond the school environment. Motivated by a commitment to holistic healing and recognizing the unique needs of children, I actively seek opportunities for personal and professional development. Concurrently, I am dedicated to augmenting my expertise by pursuing certification as a Registered Play Therapist, recognizing its profound impact on child development and the therapeutic processes.
