Approach & Philosophy I approach my work with clients with empathy, compassion, and non-judgment. My philosophical and theoretical orientation is grounded in depth psychology and is informed by Existential and Psychodynamic frameworks. My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a variety of methods. I believe that the work we do together should respect your unique strengths, needs, and experiences. While I am trained in a number of techniques, our work and the methods we use in therapy are determined by where you are now and by your goals for therapy. So, the therapeutic process looks a little different with each client. In addition to talk therapy, our work may incorporate mindfulness techniques, EMDR, the expressive arts, Jungian dreamwork, or Sandplay. I encourage any questions you may have about any of these techniques or my theoretical approach during our first meeting and at any time during our work together. Studies show, time and again, that the most important factor in successful therapy is a good therapeutic relationship. It is important that you feel a sense of connectedness as well as empathy, safety, honesty and positive regard from your therapist. Therefore, I provide a free initial consultation so we can talk about your therapeutic goals, needs, expectations and to determine if I am a good fit for you as a therapist. Professional Information I received my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Regis University in 2005. I am licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Colorado. Having completed advanced training, clinical experience, and consultation in the practice of EMDR, I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and credentialed through the EMDR International Association. The scope of my practice is in providing individual psychotherapy for healing and growth. I do not do evaluations or investigations for forensic or criminal proceedings; child custody hearings; divorce or other civil proceedings; or for disability. Persons who wish such evaluations will be referred to appropriate professionals.
