David Rangel, LPC-Associate Supervised by Shawna Corley, Ph.D, LPC-S, LCDC, CTTP, NCC When you're the one everyone turns to, it's easy to forget you're human too. You show up, stay steady, and hold the line—whether in a uniform, on the job, or simply in your family. But even the most resilient people can start to feel the weight of it all. Stress builds. Loss lingers. And the expectation to always “be okay” can start to wear thin. David Rangel works with people who carry heavy loads—veterans, first responders, medical professionals, law enforcement officers, and others navigating high-stakes roles or difficult transitions. His clients are used to staying calm in chaos and pushing through pain, but they come to him when that pain starts showing up in ways they can’t ignore—sleepless nights, a short fuse, numbness, or simply feeling worn down. Before becoming a counselor, David spent over a decade serving as a combat medic and paramedic in both military and civilian settings. He knows firsthand what it’s like to witness trauma and to keep going even when you’re running on empty. That lived experience shapes everything about how he shows up as a therapist: grounded, honest, and practical. David doesn’t believe in fluff or vague advice. He helps clients understand what’s happening beneath the surface and works with them to build tools they can actually use—no judgment, no sugarcoating. Whether you’re dealing with trauma, grief, anxiety, or burnout, his goal is to help you feel more in control of your life again—on your terms. He holds a BA in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Mary’s University. His sessions are straightforward, focused, and centered on what works—for you.
