I practice psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapy. Instead of focusing on quick fixes, we explore deep emotional & relational patterns—often rooted in childhood or other relationships—to understand how they still play out today. These patterns probably used to help you cope, and maybe even helped you survive trauma. By bringing awareness, we open space for new insights, greater control, emotional peace, and a deeper understanding of who you are and how you got here. Essentially, instead of focusing only on your symptoms, we treat the thing that gives rise to the symptoms in the first place, so those symptoms no longer overpower you. I also offer comprehensive psychological assessments for children and adults with a focus on ADHD, autism, memory, personality, or cognitive & learning questions. I utilize VR in some of my ADHD testing. I have experience writing psychological letters of support for trans and GNC folks who are interested in utilizing hormone replacement therapy or surgery. Beginning the psychotherapy process is intrinsically difficult. As humans, we are of two minds—we no longer want to hurt, but we feel frightened or doubtful about what change might be like, so a part of us moves towards the familiar, even when it's hurtful. I look forward to working with you to navigate this inner complexity and to find a road to healing.
