Introduction

David Arcana is the owner and operator of Counseling Connection NWA. He is an Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT) that works diligently to help his clients uncover and make sense of damaging patterns often inherent in their lives. Do you often react in anger only to later feel guilty, apologizing but never feeling supported? Do you carry the weight of feeling dismissed and unwanted by loved ones but somehow told you are in the wrong? Have these messages convinced you connecting with others isn't worth the pain? EFT can help work through these issues because at their core is the most basic human desire, meaningful connection. We accomplished secure connection through examining, processing, and organizing disruptive events to become more aware of our present emotional experiences. David's specialty is working with couples in distress but enjoys working with individuals too seeking a better understanding of themselves. David began his career working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence and is trained in trauma informed care. He has worked in a variety of settings including both inpatient and outpatient mental health, school based services, and private practice. He is a validating and compassionate therapist who believes that the most effective therapy is built through deeper awareness and understanding of the whole person. David is a veteran of the United States Navy. Prior to becoming a mental health counselor he enjoyed a career as an athletic trainer. He enjoys being outdoors, spending time with his family, and is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Arkansas.
