Introduction

My name is Daryl Simmons. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, offering **virtual** individual and family therapy in the Richmond and Tri-Cities area. I specialize in a variety of emotional and behavioral issues including generalized anxiety, depression, life transitions, family conflict, stress management, and performance or sports-related anxiety. I work primarily with Adolescents, Gen-Z, Millennials, and student/professional-athletes. I am passionate about reducing the stigma associated with mental health in the African-American community and creating spaces for intergenerational healing. I believe in taking a collaborative approach to best assist clients in achieving their desired outcomes throughout the therapeutic process. Building a strong client relationship and creating a welcoming space for vulnerability and growth are fundamental components of my practice. I understand that relationships between and among people are an important vehicle for change. My goal is to make clients feel as safe and comfortable as possible. Life happens to everyone and it does not discriminate. I truly believe there is hope for every client who is willing to learn and participate. I welcome the opportunity to help you navigate your personal journey and take the first steps to creating a new purpose in your life.
