Hello and Welcome! My name is Darla Trent and I am nationally certified counselor (NCC-1532806) and licensed professional counselor in Idaho (LPC-8365). I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Marriage and Family Studies from Brigham Young University-Idaho and my masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University. I have an emphasis in Trauma, Grief, and Crisis as well as Play Therapy and I am Level 2 trained in Internal Family Systems, a trauma-based modality. I have been married to my best friend, my husband for over 33 years, and together, we have 6 children and 5 grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren and going on adventures to faraway, and not so faraway places. I often bring home small tokens from my adventures and incorporate them into my everyday life through journaling, sand play, art, crafts, and other avenues. In my spare time, I like to read self-help books, create my own original designs, and brainstorm my next new adventure. I work with individuals, families, groups, and children (ages 3 and up) through an IFS (Internal Family Systems) perspective with a focus on establishing a productive, trusting, and collaborative partnership. I utilize a client-led approach with respect for my client’s pace and goals while providing a centered, open-hearted, and safe environment to do so. My goal is to walk with my clients as we journey together towards healing and self-transformation.
