Welcome to Pivotal Point Family Therapy! We are a mental health private practice located in Sterling, Kansas. Hi there! My name is Danika Drake and I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT) and the owner of Pivotal Point Therapy. I earned my Masters of Science in Family Therapy from Friends University in 2017. I enjoy working with clients age 10 and up with a variety of issues including (but not limited to): anxiety, trauma, depression, women's issues, parent-child difficulties, and issues related to going through the teenage years. I also enjoy working with college aged adults who are launching into adulthood, and am happy to integrate a faith-based approach to those who desire that to be part of their therapy journey. My background in family systems informs my practice as I help people to understand how family patterns affect their present life. My goal is to tailor treatment to what works best for you, but some of the modalities I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, sandtray and EMDR. In addition to therapy services, I am a Kansas Board Approved Supervisor for MFTs seeking Clinical Licensure. Outside of work I enjoy reading, spending time with my husband and kids, and attending concerts and musicals as much as possible. I believe that you already have the power to heal within you, and sometimes just need someone to walk alongside you as you do that. If you feel like I could be a good fit to walk with you on your healing journey, I’d love to talk with you! ——— My name is Jeff Darnauer, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I graduated from Emporia State University with my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I enjoy working with individuals aged 12 and up, couples, and families from a variety of backgrounds. I love to help people achieve their mental health and overall wellness goals using a collaborative and compassionate approach to empower clients to overcome the barriers to the life they want. I have experience addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, social/relational issues, codependency, family dynamics, mood disorders, some personality disorders, addictive behaviors, men’s issues, grief, and major life adjustments. I do this by integrating a range of evidence-based counseling approaches, depending on the symptoms, diagnosis, strengths, and preferences of the client. I use a strengths-based, client-centered, trauma-informed approach that draws on the experiences, abilities, supports, background, and resources of each individual. With a background in pastoral ministry and a Master of Divinity degree, I love integrating the faith or spirituality of my client if that is a priority for them. The most common modalities I utilize are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based practices, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and/or Christian counseling. With my wife of nearly 20 years and 3 kids, I have experienced many of the ups and downs that go with family life. I bring my breadth of life experience, education, and professional experience with me into each session. ——— New to the team - Sarah Vonfeldt, LSCSW. Bio coming soon!!!
