Introduction

I have been working with individuals & their families as they move through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and loss for 20 years. What I bring to your care is compassion and a depth of experience. During midwifery school, I worked as a labor & delivery nurse and childbirth educator. I attended births at homes, in birth centers, and in hospitals. During my 14+ years as a nurse-midwife, I worked in community hospitals and a federally-qualified health center and taught Mindfulness-Based Childbirth & Parenting (MBCP) to expectant families. In early 2020, I became a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) and started a private practice to focus on perinatal mental health. My intention is to facilitate clients to access their own capacity and creativity to meet with whatever is arising during their lives. In this way, I continue to midwife clients through pregnancy and the process of becoming parents. Preconceptionally, I work with people who have mental health issues to make a plan about how they will keep well during the transition to parenting. I also address issues related to infertility, pregnancy loss, adoption, stress, anxiety, depression, birth trauma, and the postpartum transition. My therapeutic approach is mindfulness-based within an IFS framework. I am a Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist and have been a practice assistant in Level 1 & Level 2 trainings. I also offer medication support for those who need and want it. If you are looking for Mindfulness-Based Childbirth & Parenting classes, please check out childbirth education at Mt Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA or, for national listings, mindfulbirthing.org. As of March 2024, the wait for a one-time consultation or medication support is approximately 2-4 weeks. The wait time for a therapy spot is typically 2-4 months. Please contact me to get on the waitlist and indicate your insurance and if you are looking for weekly or biweekly. I will connect with you when I have space available.
