Introduction

As a therapist, I love supporting fellow humans in their relationship with body, food, movement, and self. I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), certified nutritionist (CN), licensed massage therapist (LMT) and certified exercise physiologist (ACSM-CEP) who specializes in working with adults with eating disorders. I am a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals and am working towards their certification in eating disorder treatment. I attained a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, a Master of Science in Nutrition and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Exercise Science from Bastyr University to learn how to support individuals struggling with disordered eating. My approach is to co-create a liminal space for healing where clients can reconnect with their own innate body wisdom, wherever they currently are on that journey. Because I believe each of us are the experts of our own lives, I see my role as a support character in one of many rich chapters in my clients' lives. Through my willingness to delve into the messiness of the human condition, I support clients in navigating the art of being human. Through connecting to their inner knowing and living in congruence with their identified values, they can rediscover the empowerment to write their next chapter. Therapeutic Orientation Both my counseling and my bodywork are person-centered and combine a variety of modalities to offer a holistic approach. Counseling I offer outpatient mental health counseling for adults struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image, sport concerns, and co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. I bring my experience in higher level of care eating disorder work and my background in massage to inform my counseling work. My primary modalities are Internal Family Systems, Somatic Psychotherapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am Level 1 trained in Internal Family Systems and pursuing certification. Nutrition I offer outpatient nutrition counseling for those who struggle with disordered eating and body image. Rather than specific meal plans or dietary advice, I support clients in making the shifts they want to make in their relationship with food and strategizing how to ensure they're meeting their nutritional needs. Those who meet clinical criteria for an eating disorder need to be under the care of a registered dietician nutritionist. Massage Therapy In my massage practice, I combine a variety of modalities to offer my clients pain and stress relief from a trauma-informed lens. I do traditional western massage techniques such as Swedish and deep tissue but I specialize in craniosacral therapy and manual lymph drainage. Visit https://liminal-space-therapy.massagetherapy.com/ or contact me for more information regarding how these modalities may help you. Movement Coaching As part of my intent to help clients with their relationship with movement, I offer movement coaching sessions. Unlike personal training, these sessions are intended to get at the heart of your relationship with movement so you can tease out what you love about movement and what's not working for you. These sessions may be talk sessions or experiential in nature. Contact me for more details.
