Introduction

My approach to therapy is grounded in trauma-informed care, recognizing the profound impact that past trauma can have on an individual's mental, emotional, and physical well-being. I strive to create a safe and empowering space for my clients to explore and process their trauma in a way that promotes healing and resilience. Trauma-Informed Care: In my practice, I prioritize understanding how trauma affects the entire body and being, not just the mind. Traumatic experiences can manifest in physical symptoms, emotional distress, and relational difficulties. By taking a holistic approach to therapy, I aim to help my clients address the impact of trauma on their whole being and support them in finding healing and restoration. Caregiver and Rebel Therapist: As a caregiver, I am deeply committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for my clients to explore their innermost thoughts and emotions. I believe in the power of empathy, validation, and connection in the therapeutic process. Additionally, I embody the spirit of a rebel therapist, challenging traditional norms and advocating for my clients' unique needs and voices. I encourage my clients to question societal expectations, embrace their authentic selves, and reclaim their agency in shaping their own narratives. Attachment Styles: In addition to trauma-informed care and being a caregiver and rebel therapist, I specialize in working with clients to understand and navigate their attachment styles. Our early attachment experiences can deeply influence our responses to trauma and shape our relationships with ourselves and others. Through exploration and reflection, clients can gain insight into these patterns and work towards developing healthier, more secure attachments. Clinical Supervision: In addition to providing psychotherapy services, I also offer clinical supervision for conditionally licensed social workers and counselors in Maine. I understand the importance of professional growth and development, especially during the initial stages of one's career. Through my supervision, I aim to create a nurturing and educational environment where supervisees can enhance their clinical skills, explore ethical considerations, and deepen their self-awareness as professionals. I am committed to promoting a supportive and collaborative supervision experience, facilitating the growth and competence of emerging professionals. I abide by the ethical guidelines and standards set by the state of Maine and professional organizations in the field. I am here to support you on your journey towards healing, growth, and self-discovery. Together, we can work towards creating a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you are ready to take the next step towards positive change, I invite you to reach out and schedule a session with me.
