Choosing the therapist to work with is one of the most important steps in your healing journey. Research shows that it is the working alliance between client and therapist that best predicts positive outcomes. So let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a licensed Clinical Profession Counselor and a Certified EMDR Therapist. In 2016, I earned a Master of Science Degree from Loyola University Maryland. My journey to become a psychotherapist began as a midlife career change after career adventures in philanthropy, government service and in civil rights legal work. Looking back, I can trace a spirit of service to make the world a better place that runs through these career choices. Working to help you achieve your treatment goals is my passion and my focus. My clinical training spans diverse settings. I have worked in bereavement care with clients who have lost or are facing the loss of loved ones; with patients and care givers of loved ones facing chronic and terminal illnesses; in assertive community treatment to address severe and persistent mental illness; in community outreach to assist individuals transitioning from living on the street to permanent housing; in inpatient hospital settings to treat substance abuse, PTSD and co-occurring disorders. I have worked with gay, straight and transgender folks. I bring a spirit of respect for cultural difference when working with each client. I am honored when a client trusts me to be a part of their healing journey.
