Growing up, I gravitated towards the story of the Island of Misfit Toys. This band of Misfits with odd quirks don't quite fit-in with their more normative toy counterparts. While their "defects" are unique, they share in the reality of being together on this island, which affords them a kind of refuge in a world that can feel quite cruel at times. This theme of being outcast, however, is juxtaposed with another one: Things That Are Storied As Broken Can Still Have Value Guided by the ethics of Narrative Therapy, I hope to remind you that you are not a problem - but problems are. I want to partner with you to be curious about and even rewrite the narratives that are getting in the way of you living a full and fun life. Together, I hope to co-create a safe space with you to discover and fortify your preferred story for how you want to exist in the world. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your unique goals and needs. My style is collaborative, direct, relational, and warm. I provide a supportive environment, yet one that challenges you to move closer to a clearer understanding. If you’ve read this far down, I’d invite you to set up a free consultation call with me so that we can determine good mutual fit and get started on your goals!
