For the past 10+ years, I have had the pleasure of working with children, adolescents, adults, and family systems. Through these experiences I am well versed in working with trauma such as domestic violence, human trafficking, childhood trauma, life transitions, and grief. From a strength based approach, I provide a safe and non judgmental space for clients to express and work through past or current experiences that can cause stress in everyday life. To assist each person I utilize methods from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to create coping skills to manage and reduce symptoms from anxiety, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and other mental health needs. I look to assist clients in their growth and healing by providing a safe, non-judgmental, and encouraging space for them. Many people struggle daily with stressors that affect their day-to-day functioning. Different stressors can be due to a stressful work environment, school, and family/relationship issues. Through these stressors we can create distortions in our thinking such as personalizing, minimizing, all-or-nothing thinking, etc. that can increase anxiousness or bring us deeper into depression. Therapy can assist with developing tools to cope with these stressors and reduce symptoms.
