I have been treating clients with trauma for over 20 years. The treatment approaches have been ever changing and it's important that therapists know the most effective and successful therapy options available. I am highly trained and experienced in trauma treatment modalities and emotional and nervous system regulation. I truly believe that I cannot take you where I have not been. I have utilized all modalities that I offer in my own therapy with a therapist. It is important for anyone working in any helping field to receive regular mental health treatment. I also have experience with therapist and caretaker burnout. I love working with first time therapy clients and educating you on how the therapy processes works and how your brain process the world around you. Have you been to therapy in the past and your therapist discharged you because you are so insightful but you still feel like there must be something more? I'm here to help you continue your therapy journey! In our first session, we will spend some time learning about each other and discuss what goals you have decided on for therapy. Don't worry if your only goal is to feel better or you aren't sure what your goals will be. We will discuss this and decide in session. You can also expect a clinician that is sex positive and affirming of lifestyles outside of heteronormativity. My therapy practice strengths include offering unconditional positive regard, nervous system co- regulation during sessions and a non-judgmental, encouraging, space where you learn to creating a felt sense of safety in sessions, for yourself and beyond. You are in the driver’s seat and you are a great driver! I just have some maps you might benefit from. Working at a nonprofit, rape crisis center since 1998 has given me an inside view on gender inequalities that effect women and their quality of life. I know that women often feel unheard and have been betrayed by the system. I will understand you and believe you. This includes all victims of abuse and violence. Everyone should be able to make decisions about their own body. I am pro LGBTQIA, pro roe, pro Sex Worker , sex positive, and I continually work toward being anti-racist and I will do that work until the day I leave this earth. However, my practice is not limited to women. I have experience working with men, women and children. Everyone deserves to have a safe space to explore who they are and who they want to be.
