Dr. Chiarella is a licensed clinical psychologist in the State of California, and has a breadth of clinical expertise developed over 20 years working with children, adolescents, and adults in rural, urban, and suburban settings. She spent years serving adults with developmental disabilities and those with severe and persistent mental illness. Dr. Chiarella is passionate about psychological testing, behavioral health, and utilizing a comprehensive approach to wellness including the integration of faith. She has a heart to impact positive change in the lives of those serving in caring professions, military service members and their families, adolescents and young adults, and trauma survivors. Dr. Chiarella carries two master’s degrees (Community Mental Health and Clinical Psychology), and earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu. She utilizes an integrative, biopsychosocial approach to treatment, prioritizing evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy to improve mental and behavioral health outcomes. She is trained in evidence-based PTSD interventions including Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy. Dr. Chiarella earned a post-doctoral specialization in Child and Family Psychiatry. Dr. Chiarella has also has unique consultation experience including supporting organizational change management and mental health improvement efforts for students and faculty within scholastic settings.
