As a therapist, I bring a curious, patient, and intuitive presence to the therapeutic relationship. I am dedicated to helping you resolve confusing emotional responses due to childhood abuse, sex assault, neglect, and otherwise difficult relationships with caregivers. I'll help you understand how these experiences got stuck and will try to help you resolve them so you can finally move forward. As an individual, I am a neurodivergent, queer human with significant childhood wounding. My life hasn't always been safe, stable, or healthy. My formative years were marked by rural poverty, parental incarceration, and the poor mental health of my caregivers. It's hard to pinpoint what combination of factors allowed me to overcome or live with my external and eventual internal barriers. I still have bad days, but I am also truly privileged and I take that seriously. As a social worker, I firmly believe that the current systems in which we all live, work, and love perpetuate and encourage cycles of violence. I understand first-hand how our early life experiences can shape our beliefs, actions, and access to resources. As an abolitionist, I choose to promote harm reduction and restorative practices. As a lifelong learner, I have advanced training in approaches that I myself have experienced in therapeutic spaces and I trust in their efficacy. I strive to stay up-to-date on best practices for queer and neurodivergent people. I am committed to decolonizing my interior world to ensure I provide a space safe enough for all. I am an EMDR trained clinician, have completed Step 3 of Syzygy's IFS-informed EMDR, and am working toward certification in both. You are welcome here.
