Colleen Gallagher, LCSW, MSW - is an integrative Psychotherapist, Mindfulness and Meditation practitioner/Educator. Her work is informed by current research in emotional and behavioral health, mindful communication, secular mindfulness, mind-body medicine, and neuroscience. Her specialty is working with habit change, self-esteem and relational difficulties - helping to restore one’s sense of belonging and connectedness with Self and others. She has extensive trauma training and is an EMDR Therapist (National Institute for Psychotherapies, EMDIRA). Colleen's approach is rooted in the belief that we have an innate capacity for wellness and resiliency, and that we heal in relation with others. Colleen blends her experience in mind-body and creative disciplines with traditional psychotherapy approaches. She sees private clients, mentors healthcare providers, runs a variety of groups both therapeutic and non therapeutic, and teaches the MBSR 8-week program as a qualified MBSR teacher through the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Healthcare, Society and Medicine. Colleen's an experienced highly trained clinician who incorporates trauma-informed and mindfulness-based interventions with traditional psychotherapy, creative-positive psychology, mindful tech, working with habits, mindful communication, and tools for emotional intelligence, embodied awareness and the “here and now”. She draws on her former career as an art teacher and professional performing artist when helpful. And her goal is to help clients understand and diminish troublesome thoughts and behaviors, strengthen emotional-relational well-being, while promoting self-awareness and fostering interpersonal and emotional skills. She is passionate about the transformative potential of integrative psychotherapy and mindfulness tools…and seeks to help others live and work with more ease, compassion, and connection. And looks forward to building your trust as a caring listener.
