I believe in an authentic and caring therapeutic relationship, coupled with evidence-based treatments, as the strong foundation for success. My approach focuses on identify clients' existing strengths and increasing their capacities to cope with stress. I strive to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space to facilitate change and healing. My style is insight and feedback oriented interpersonal therapy. I have focused on supporting people dealing with a wide range of psychiatric disorders , family relationships, grief and loss, trauma, and adjustment. I work within an LGBTQ+ and gender-affirming framework. I also has extensive experience working with co occurring Substance Use Disorders. I prefer to work with adults and provide family and couple counseling. I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Towson University and received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland in 1994. I have been working mostly in outpatient mental health settings and group practice settings but have a wide range of experience with a vast knowledge of healthcare systems and resources.
