Oftentimes we deny the support that we know we deserve. Whether it be because we hold ourselves to expectations that are unrealistic, or we worry about the judgment of other people in our lives, either way, we end up only hurting ourselves. This is something I've been guilty of too, thinking I can handle the weight of the world on my shoulders even though lifting weights has never been my specialty. That is how I know that you don't need me to tell you that "I know what you are going through", because I don't. You may be experiencing a variety of mental health concerns right now but I am not going to pretend like I know exactly how you are feeling in this season of your life. You are the expert of your experience and this moment does not define you. I am passionate about helping you discover and create the most authentic version of yourself because everyone’s experience is unique, and it is my goal to provide a safe space where my clients can comfortably receive the empathy and support that they need to work through their challenges, even when it feels like no one else understands what they are going through. You coming to this page, to me, is inspiring. Maybe you're feeling defeated because you needed to reach out for support but I want you to know that you deserve to be the best version of yourself. Hi, I'm Ciara and I provide counseling sessions for tweens, teens, young adults, and those of all ages suffering from cancer or chronic illness who live in the state of Florida. My practice is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help develop personal insight that allows my clients to use new skills to adjust the patterns of behaviors and thoughts that are causing them distress. Encompassing my own experience with the learned and shared experiences of my clients, I have rooted my practice in transparency and compassion to give you the space you need to heal. Whether your struggles compare to or are nothing like mine, you will always be the expert of your own experience. It is exhausting and isolating to feel like no one understands what you are going through, and I hope that I can give you the opportunity for you to empower yourself to begin writing your new story: the one where you are in control.
