Introduction

I help people who struggle with Addiction, PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety stop the unrelenting cycle of guilt, shame, and overly critical behavior. My clients struggle like you do. Despite being kind, smart, capable high achievers— life is hard. When they first come to therapy, they are repulsed by what they see when they look in the mirror. When they look at themselves, they feel disgusting, hopeless, and frustrated. The feeling that they aren’t good enough is pervasive. Even in areas where they earn accolades and respect, they worry that will fall off the pedestal if they make any errors. “Good enough” feels so tenuous. Then when they do mess up in some way there’s no one on earth who is harder on them than they are on themselves. When they first come in, our clients’ self-love is conditional. Whether it’s the amount they weigh, the amount of positive regard others show them, the grade they earned on a test or the number of “exceeds expectations” on a performance review, our clients’ definition of success is largely determined by external measures. They aren’t braggy about their success but they want others to know that they’re successful. They want to be liked… possibly more than anything. And they are liked, always have been. It gets overwhelming trying to balance all the things that make them feel good enough. Because being an exceptional friend and exceptional partner and exceptional child and exceptional parent and exceptional worker and exceptional student and exceptionally healthy is impossible. They know this but it doesn’t stop them from trying. I get it. I truly get the pain my clients feel. And I know the way out. You deserve to feel at peace in your body. You deserve to go about your day knowing you’re good enough. All the time. No matter what. If you want to feel comfortable in your own skin, I’d love to help you get there. Schedule an appointment today. You don’t have to suffer. I can help.
