Heal and shift." ~Dr. Thema When my career began over twenty years ago, I was working with children and families in the education and juvenile probation systems, I felt like something was missing. After taking some time off to do some introspection and explore my options, I found myself drawn to BASTYR UNIVERSITY (LIOS program), a private, holistic, alternative healthcare University in the PNW. I shared their same philosophy- that all people deserve compassionate, client-centered care that is pulled from science based, natural healing treatments. I graduated with a MA in Applied Behavioral Science. I'm a Licensed Mental Health counselor (LMHC); Board National Certified Counselor, Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider; Certified Trauma Professional and Certified Shame-Informed Treatment Specialist. I am also a Child Mental Health Specialist and an approved Clinical Supervisor (for interns and unlicensed clinicians workings towards licensure) in Washington State. I've had the privilege of working in both small non-profit mental health agencies as well as large community health systems, that allowed me to work with diverse populations (especially, those who are often marginalized) to draw upon variety of person centered, treatment modalities that build upon the client's existing strengths.
