Introduction

I AM ONLY TAKING RETURN CLIENTS AT THIS TIME I AM STILL AVAILABLE FOR PRE-SURGICAL BARIATRIC ASSESSMENTS (Please email me at the below address before making an appointment) With over 20 years of experience as a therapist, I’ve been commited to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges. I know that life can often be tough, unexpected, and overwhelming, leaving you feeling confused, alone, and misunderstood. My goal is to create a safe, empathetic space where you feel truly seen and heard. My approach to therapy is positively focused and centered on self-acceptance. I work collaboratively with you to help you make healthier choices—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—for long-term success and well-being. I focus on your strengths, encouraging personal growth and empowering you to build the life you want. I am experieced in working with adjustment challenges, mood disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, and women’s issues. I also specialize in military culture and pre/post-surgical bariatric counseling. As an LGBTQ+ informed therapist, I am knowledgeable about the unique needs of the kink and polyamory/ENM communities. Diversity and inclusion are important to me, and I take racism seriously. I’m a proud supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, the Black Lives Matter movement, and women’s rights. I understand that underrepresented individuals often feel unsafe or unseen, and while I cannot claim to know firsthand what that feels like, I am deeply committed to making you feel safe and accepted when we work together. I honor and respect our differences and will do everything I can to build a space of trust and understanding. I also believe that the therapeutic connection is the most important factor in achieving successful outcomes. Research shows that the relationship between a client and therapist is far more impactful than any specific technique or method. My goal is to build a genuine and supportive connection with you so we can explore solutions that align with your unique needs and goals. I offer therapy through my online private practice, making it easier and more convenient for you to get the support you need. Whether you’re dealing with a specific issue or simply need someone to talk to, I’m here to help. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about my approach or services. Together, we can work toward creating the life you deserve. ********** Email: christy.nyakana.phc@gmail.com Psychology Today: https://www.psychologytoday.com/profile/935564 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christy-nyakana-lcsw-4640bb5/ ********** If you live in Pennsylvania and are covered by and would like to use your Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Highmark, Cigna, Cigna EAP, Optum, Optum EAP, Humana or Independence Blue Cross insurance plans, OR If you live in Ohio and are covered by and would like to use your Aetna,, Cigna, Cigna EAP, Optum, Optum EAP, or Human insurance plans, please contact my intake team at Grow Therapy by clicking on the link below: https://growtherapy.com/book-appointment?id=1601&utm_source=provider-sourced&utm_medium=booking-link&utm_campaign=provider-dashboard **********
