Introduction

When you’re able to connect with someone who is real and authentic, whose experience and skill meets you right where you are at – great things often happen. Hearts can be mended, relationships can be restored, and life can be lived the way it was meant to be lived. If that is something you long for, then I’d love the opportunity to see how I can help. You’ll find that my approach to therapy is down to earth and honest. I know what it’s like to be hurting and I know what it’s like to be in therapy. In my office there’s no lying down on a couch, staring at ink blots, quick fixes, or simple solutions. I’m skilled at finding a balance between practical solutions and working through a deeper understanding of the hurts and habits that get in our way. Because I’m committed to getting you the best support available, I use effective and scientifically proven methods that are tailored to meet your individual needs. My clients have often said that my calm strength, direct insight, and genuine concern have helped them feel safe, understood, and hopeful in the midst of difficult circumstances. Those are humbling comments to hear. At my core I love helping others and seeing lives changed – it’s something I’ve always pursued. Even before becoming a therapist I served for over 20 years as an Army officer, serving the people of the United States and helping my Soldiers find purpose and meaning in their lives. While serving in the church as both a Ordained Minister and Lay Leader I have been able to utilize my gifts and help others through difficult times in their lives. I still get a lot of referrals from local churches, but the majority of my clients find me through other therapists, word of mouth, former clients, and Psychology Today. If you think I might be a good fit to work with you I encourage you to make an appointment to come in and talk more about what therapy looks like and how I can help. To set up your initial consultation, please call (803) 779-7500. I love working as a therapist and tend to keep a full appointment schedule. But when I’m not meeting with clients (or reading the latest psychology books and journals) I really enjoy time with my family and working on projects around the house.
