Introduction

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience in the field of mental health. I work with adult clients to address mental health concerns including: Trauma / PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, and more. I worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs for 14 years providing therapy to veterans with a range of mental health concerns including PTSD. I left the VA in 2022 and entered private practice with a primary focus on trauma-informed therapy. I am an EMDR Certified Therapist and I often use this powerful therapy to help clients who experience residual symptoms of trauma, depression, and anxiety. EMDR involves reprocessing disturbing or traumatic memories using eye movements, sounds, or tapping. After reprocessing, clients will no longer experience the negative emotions associated with previously distressing memories. It can be very anxiety-provoking to make initial contact with a therapist. If you contact me, I will schedule a brief phone call with you as a first step. This call allows me to find out more about what brings you to therapy and what you are hoping to obtain from therapy. It also allows us both to determine if there is a good therapeutic fit. I strive to create a warm and accepting environment where you can feel free to speak openly about your concerns without judgment. I see clients in the District of Columbia (Telehealth only); Maryland (Telehealth only); Virginia (Telehealth only) and North Carolina (Telehealth only).
