Christine Nicklos is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Art Therapist who works with children, adolescents and adults. She has worked in a community mental health setting and in schools, with youth ages 7-17. Some of her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship issues, grief and loss, self-harm, self-esteem issues, and trauma. After 7 years of practice, I’ve honed my holistic based approach to care, which focuses on a person’s strengths and considers all the aspects that make you, you! By integrating different modalities, I cater treatment to fit your needs, allowing us to find what approaches are most supportive. Approaches I often use include, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Spiritual Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychology and Mindfulness. As an Art Therapist, I believe art making helps people uncover and communicate thoughts and emotions that can be difficult to express verbally. With a focus on process, not just product, I use Art Therapy as an outlet for joyful creativity, which can repair negative core beliefs, build mind-body connection and enhance confidence. The relationship between therapist and client is of great value to me, as it’s the foundation from where change can begin. I am continuously inspired by those I work with and see their strengths and potential. I also understand the road toward change can be challenging and will walk beside you on this path. In our work together, I will strive to help you identify your unique strengths and develop skills to manage challenges, empowering you to live a more balanced life as your strongest self.
