Introduction

Individual Therapy: Are you seeking a safe, authentic space to feel heard and supported, explore your thoughts and emotions, and learn practical strategies for navigating life's challenges? I offer individual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to adolescents (ages 13+) and adults. My approach is curious, compassionate, practical, and infused with gentle humor. Together, we’ll explore your unique experiences, embrace your strengths and aspirations, and examine the relationships among your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help you understand yourself more deeply. Through our collaborative work, you’ll gain clarity, insight, and research-based tools that empower you to create lasting change and move confidently toward a more authentic, meaningful life. Individual therapy is offered in-person and via telehealth to Colorado residents and via telehealth to Washington state residents. Comprehensive Evaluations: Comprehensive neurodevelopmental and psycho-educational evaluations are offered for students ages 4 to 24 who struggle with learning disabilities (including Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia), ADHD, attention and executive functioning challenges, anxiety, and depression. Depending on the referral concerns, evaluations may include: a 1-hour diagnostic interview, a school observation, 1:1 testing with the student (e.g., cognitive, neuropsychological, academic, social/emotional), a parent feedback session, a student feedback session, a school meeting, and a written report with recommendations for home and school. Students and caregivers often comment that the evaluation process offers a deeper understanding of a student's unique strengths and challenges while also providing a thoughtful, strengths-based path forward. Comprehensive evaluations are offered in-person in Boulder, Colorado. Insurance: I am out-of-network with all insurance companies. Payment in full is due at the time of service. As a courtesy to you and with your permission, I will submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf. Your insurance company should then reimburse you directly at their rate for out-of-network providers (which may be different than my hourly rate). You are responsible for verifying your insurance coverage and inquiring about your out-of-network benefits. Qualifications: In 2007 and 2010 respectively, I obtained a M.Ed. and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Washington. During graduate school, I worked as a graduate research assistant investigating the identification and treatment of learning disabilities and emotional/behavioral challenges as well as the implementation and evaluation of school-based multi-tiered positive behavioral interventions and supports. I held a graduate teaching assistantship overseeing Master’s level students in a year-long counseling practicum. Additionally, I completed a post-M.Ed. school psychology internship in the Seattle Public Schools, a pre-doctoral internship at the University of Washington Autism Center and a private practice in Seattle, and a post-doctoral residency in a private practice in Seattle. From 2012 – 2024, I owned a private practice in Seattle, Washington that focused on individual therapy, comprehensive neurodevelopmental and psycho-educational evaluations, brief cognitive assessments, and school consultations. During this time, I also supervised pre- and post-doctoral students, served on the board at an independent school for highly capable students, and served on the Continuing Education Committee for the Washington State Psychological Association. In 2024, my family and I moved from Seattle to Boulder, Colorado. The following year, I opened Compass Psychological Services, LLC. At this time, I am dually licensed as a psychologist in Colorado and in Washington state. I am really enjoying getting to know the mental health community in Boulder while also maintaining my strong ties to the Pacific Northwest. Outside of work, I love being in the great outdoors--whether skiing, hiking, biking, or gardening--and spending time with my family and friends. The next step: If you’re ready to take the next step, I invite you to reach out for a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to discuss how we can work together to support you on your journey. I'm here when you're ready.
