My passion for being a therapist stems from my desire to help people. You may experience depression, anxiety, low self-confidence and unresolved trauma. You may not experience life fully, feel present nor able to experience joy and happiness. Perhaps there is a self-critical voice that tells you you are not good enough, … I use mindfulness and somatic approaches to bring support and empathy to what is present. We may also use brainspotting and parts work to help you learn to build a restorative and compassionate relationship with yourself and your healing. I have been practicing as a psychotherapist for over 30 years primarily working in the field of addiction and secondarily with people who have experienced trauma. I lead groups for people with addiction and trauma and work extensively with people in individual counseling modalities. I have a license in Social Work in Oregon and Washington and I am licensed as a Substance Use Disorder Professional in Washington. I specialize in Somatic Experiencing and have completed three years of intensive training in that field. Also, I’ve completed training for Somatic Resilience and Regulation for those with childhood-onset trauma. I’ve completed phase one and two of brainspotting.
