My practice focuses on individual therapy for adults with anxiety and stress-related issues. Over the past year, many people have experienced an increase in stress that has overwhelmed their usual ways of coping. This includes stress related to interpersonal relationships, work or home life, or worsening of previously managed anxiety. If this resonates for you, my goal for you in therapy is to empower you with a better understanding of yourself, provide you with a new skill set to manage stress, and enable you to live a life you value. I use an integrative approach with an emphasis on self-compassion and acceptance. My professional training is in evidence-based theories: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (+ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness. With collaboration and curiosity, we will explore your unique experience to understand the causes of your stress or anxiety. My work also emphasizes self-compassion. Research shows that practicing deliberate self-compassion is an effective tool to manage stress and anxiety. In my experience, clients that learn to offer themselves kindness and acceptance are more able to step outside their comfort zones to try new strategies that help them effectively cope with life's challenges.
