Introduction

Making the decision to start therapy can be challenging, so I want to start by saying I am happy you are here taking the first step in trying to find the best fit for you. Some people struggle with symptoms like anxiety for most of their life and some may be just starting to have symptoms. Whether you are the former or the latter, there are things that we can do together to help improve your experience of life and work to reduce some of those symptoms that impact you. Life happens to everyone. For some it’s a new diagnosis, an unexpected illness or a divorce, for others it’s losing a job or experiencing burnout from work or parenting. Many people seek therapy following a disruption in their family system or work environment that impacts them emotionally. One thing is universal however and that is our human desire to feel heard, understood and supported. Therapy is a safe place to share your story and process what it is that is having an impact on you, as well as develop skills and strategies so that you can work to achieve symptom relief. Early in my career, my work focused almost exclusively on children and families, especially those families who had a child with a medical and/or a developmental diagnosis. My clinical passion and expertise has evolved over the past 15 years to focus on helping those (primarily adults) struggling with anxiety disorders, medical diagnoses, difficult life transitions and the unique struggles that those working in the healthcare profession experience. I bring with me a unique understanding of the struggles that exist as a result of living with chronic medical conditions. I possess a strong passion for teaching, which has allowed me the pleasure of teaching and supervising medical residents, students and other therapists. This has helped to foster my own expertise as a clinician working with a variety of mental health and medical conditions. I believe in the strength that my client’s have to improve their lives and the power of therapy as a tool to help them discover and use this strength. I want to invite you to reach out and schedule a 15 minute (free) consultation to see if we could be a good fit.
