I practice Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused therapy (CPT), Mindfulness & Solution Focused Therapy. That means identifying our strengths & looking at the past for solutions as much as problems; Recognizing the link between our beliefs & how we perceive the world; Developing habits that build on our successes; Slowing down long enough to feel our emotions; Building healthy boundaries & setting down the enormous weight of our expectations. It's giving ourselves permission to be loved. I believe that there are many correct solutions to any problem. We don't get extra points by doing things in a conventional way. I am here for you, no matter what that looks like. We will discuss what love (and self-love) really looks and feels like. We will bridge the gap between what we know in our heads and feel in our hearts. We'll process feelings but also learn to soothe them. You can expect insight, compassion, and a renewed sense of hope. The majority of my experience has been helping people like you, from adolescence to late adulthood, maximize your strengths and find opportunities to make the changes you want in your life. I do this work because I know what its like to be on the other side of this desk. I want to share what I've learned with you. I identify as disabled, neurodivergent, and progressive. I do my best to honor the needs of my clients no matter what their identities. I fervently support the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities and value religious diversity (including nonbelief). I believe an intersectional perspective is crucial to understanding ourselves and the world around us. I have extensive experience working with people who have different needs and abilities. Whether you have medical/physical limitations, cognitive differences, or you're just struggling to find your place in this world, I'm here to help you. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler. I look forward to working with you!
