As a practitioner for over 30 years who has been trained in trauma treatment, marriage and family therapy, and worked with many issues across the life span, I have found my home in trauma therapy. I am an EMDR Certified Therapist, also certified as a 200 HR Yoga Teacher. The yoga teaching came by accident when I realized that I was doing so much research on body work and movement for my trauma clients that I thought I should deepen my understanding of the yoga practice that yokes body, mind, and spirit. This was an excellent decision as trauma is held in the body and the work done through EMDR and yoga aids in releasing it. My philosophy as a therapist is that I am here to join my clients on their journey to discovering the possibilities that have yet to be discovered and that were covered up by a story that that was spun for them so long ago. Through the healing process we get to shift the narrative to that which leads them to healing and wholeness As an EMDR therapist I have moved with clients through their journey in a way that traditional talk therapy can't do. Just as EMDR is unique in it's effect on a client's process, so is an EMDR Intensive session. Instead of working with a client one hour at a time, I provide an intensive experience that is conducted over the course of two to five days, depending on the complexity of the issues. My philosophy is that I would rather guide a client through their healing process in a shorter amount of time effectively and efficiently if this is the right choice for them.
