Introduction

Life can be challenging, full of pressure and demands that can often feel too much. Specializing in working with women and children (ages 6-17), I am experienced in supporting individuals enduring a wide range of topics from life transitions, people pleasing, peer/friendship/relationship issues, self esteem, bullying, trauma, fears, ADHD related symptoms and more. While talk therapy is a necessary part of the therapeutic process, I feel it necessary to use more to support long lasting change. I am warm and inviting, but also a direct therapist who uses primarily Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) along with the support of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy (children), Sandtray. I received my master’s degree from EWU in 2010 and now have over 12 years of clinical experience in the mental health field. I opened my Private Practice in 2018 after getting trained in EMDR. I love this work; helping people see their worth and find their inner light is so fulfilling. __________________________________ What is EMDR? It is an evidenced based practice for PTSD and trauma, which tackles your current symptoms of anxiety and depression at its root. EMDR allows a person to process through eye movements using bilateral stimulation, rather than through typical talk therapy. Eye movements and bilateral stimulation? Sounds weird? I thought so too, until I experienced it and learned it has 35+ years of research supporting it (more info can be found at emdria.org). Not sure you have trauma? That’s OKAY! Sometimes we don’t have “Big T” traumas or obvious sources of our symptoms. As your therapist, I will support you as we explore moments in life that may be contributing to daily stress, anxiety, depression and overwhelm. Together, we will identify how symptoms impact your body, identify negative thoughts and memories that contribute. With the help of Bilateral Eye Movements, we then work to decrease the intensity of the symptoms and integrate balanced and healthy beliefs. This allows you to move forward with new sense of self love, self compassion and self confidence. __________________________________ Have questions? Interested in getting started?
