Introduction

Hi, I'm Chelsey! I was born and raised in the Black Hills in SD and live in Rapid City. I received a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Spanish at Black Hills State University, as well as an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of South Dakota. Much of my experience has been at university counseling centers since graduating in 2018. I enjoy working with young adults, people in life transitions, & the LBGTQIA+ community. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor & an active member of the ACA, SDCA, & the West River Chapter of SDCA. I am a recipient of the National Society of Leadership and Success Impact Leader Award & an Honored Listee for the National Marquis "Who's Who." I have been an instructor at the university level & enjoy outreach & holistic wellness. Currently, I am also the co-chair of the Wellness Committee at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. First of all, I am so glad you are here. Settle in, take off your proverbial shoes, & make yourself comfortable. You won't have to manage life's challenges alone. I'll help you unlock your potential and reclaim joy in your life again. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgemental, & empathetic space to foster growth. Therapy is a co-created relationship, team effort, & requires honest connection. A critical part of my quest to support you lies in cultivating a place for you to explore your concerns honestly with humor, creativity, compassion & allow intimate emotions to emerge with safety. Channeling a growth mindset, focusing on strengths, & honoring the reality of life's hardships with a peaceful presence is what I aim to offer you. To me, therapy is more than just a meeting of the minds: "Therapy embodies what we all struggle to express. It creates connection & togetherness that transcends the lonesomeness and mediocrity of life that we all experience. It highlights what gives life meaning and purpose. It is an opportunity to experience raw, beautiful, organic, emotional connection. It reunites us to what truly makes us human." Have questions? Are you interested in a free 20 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit? Select "Request Appointment" today to connect. *At this time I am only offering Telehealth services and work with adults 18+ in SD. Inquire for rates. Awaiting Blue Cross Blue Shield Credentialing*
